HiFU targets the SMAS layer. When the focused ultrasound energy reaches the SMAS layer, it induces controlled thermal coagulation and denaturation of collagen fibers within this tissue which leads to immediate contraction and tightening of the SMAS layer, resulting in a lifting effect on the skin above.
Additionally, the heat generated stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibers over time, further enhancing skin firmness and elasticity.
